Morkie
 "Maltese/Yorkshire Terrier"

Morkies are a cross between Maltese and a Yorkshire terrier.

The size of a morkie can vary. Usually they are between 6-8 lbs depening on the parents background they can be smaller or a little larger.

A morkies coat is usually straight and silky with fine hair.

Morkies are lively, spirited, intelligent and loving dog.The mix of a yorkshire Terrier and Maltese makes a wonderful dog with a very playful outgoing personality. They make wonderful lap dogs and are perfect for apartment life.

The Morkie does fine with other pets. It is a good idea to give the Morkie something to do when you are not there. If they are not occupied  they get very curios.

The Morkie needs brushed daily to keep their hair from matting.  You can bathe them when necessary but not over once a week or you will dry out their skin. Be sure you use a mild tearless soap.

Crate training a Morkie is always the best way.  The crate becomes their rest place and when you are not there keeping them combined will keep them safe and out of trouble.

Morkies are well suited for apartment life. A short walk every day will keep them exercised. Having plenty of toys to play with will keep them occupied when you are not home. They enjoy family play time.
